1000 School Uniforms for 1000 Less Fortunate Indonesian Students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

On August 17th, bridges Bali, in support of “Komunitas Anak Alam” (The Community of the Children of Nature) will host a special Independence Day fundraising exhibition of photography taken by the children of the community as well as a knitting project. It is a day of fun, music and dance by the children; great Indonesian food served buffet style at the front entrance of bridges, and much more. Also, everyone is invited to drop clothing, blankets, toys, etc. It is an occasion to make a difference.

Komunitas Anak Alam is supported by a community that consists of Balinese, Indonesian and International volunteers who are empowering youth through community development, the protection of the environment and social projects for the education of children especially those living in the more remote villages of Bali. ‘Every step is a small step toward creating opportunities for many of these children especially in the disadvantaged Kintamani area to continue their education’, said Pande Putu Setiawan, initiator of the program.

One of the current goals is to be able to donate school uniforms to 1000 of these children whose families cannot even afford their basic school needs. The photography and knitting projects are designed for empowering the local children. All proceeds from their work will benefit the support in purchasing 1,000 uniforms and on that day, a percentage of the food and drink sales at bridges will be donated to Komunitas Anak Alam.

‘BRIDGING FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE’ has helped different organizations to raise funds for their project; it is bridges Bali’s way to give back to the community.
